Commonly stranded marine mammals Archive of Marine Mammal News NEW!!!  "Cetacean Investigation" - A series uncovering the science of whales, dolphins and porpoises around the world", by earthOCEAN.tv   MARS staff and volunteers are committed to bringing our message of preservation and conservation of marine life to the community.  MARS Board and Staff are on-call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, ready to respond to a marine mammal in distress.  As a volunteer-based organization, we rely on our trained volunteers to help us conduct our rescue, transport and rehabilitation operations.  We hold free monthly trainings for the South Florida community for those interested in aiding MARS with these responsibilities.  Click here if you would like to attend a MARS Basic Training Session to become a rescue/rehab volunteer.  You will see us at boat shows, art and wildlife expositions, career and volunteer fairs, and schools.  It is our intention to proactively prevent many future strandings by educating our neighbors on such issues as:  ·         Safe Boating Practices ·         Important Contact Info ·         Environmental Responsibility ·         Marine Mammal Identification ·         Recycling & Garbage Control ·         The Effects of Humans on the Coastline  ·         Science as a Career
